St. James's pen

The oak utilised by these ballpoint pens comes from No 4 St. James’s Square. It is a building steeped in history. It was built in 1679 and occupied at one time by Nancy Astor. In 1725 the house was owned by the Duke Of Kent. Later by Earl de Grey who was the 1st President of the Royal Institute of British Architects. Our pen presents an opportunity to acquire a truly worthwhile British heirloom steeped in London and indeed world history.

The 18th century oak is from quarter sawn boards and cut cross grained which brings out the magnificent tones of the wood.

st james razor logo

We have a nice safety razor also made utilising the oak from St. James’s Square. These safety razors are handmade items made by craftsmen who have the patience to work round the flaws in the ancient wood and produce an item of which each piece is unique. We also have  open razors and despite how open razors are being marketed no open razor manufacturer still exists in Sheffield and I am unaware of any open razors which are still made in the UK. We are currently engaged in refurbishing old Sheffield made open razors so you can have the beneft of a Sheffield made open razor with Sheffield steel. Cecils Poultice Factory reduced a 250

We have revived one of my Uncle Cecil’s trade cards on a shaving mug. It was a pretty ill fated venture. Click on the image to see it. He described himself as ‘poultice suppliers to the Empire’.
