We have a very few of the pens made utilising the oak from HMS Victory. The oak as you can imagine is full of holes and suffused with rot of various degrees. It has been quite a challenge for our artisan pen maker to cut out the sound bits. The pens are from our fast diminishing store of this wood.

The ballpoint pen comes in a velvet lined box and are accompanied by a letter on handmade paper telling you about the pens and how they were  handmade in Britain by our artisan pen maker.

Over the next four years the centenary of British military engagements in WW1 will be coming up. We have produced a knife utilising wood from Lee Enfield rifle butts and some of those knives will be engraved with the dates of the various battles. We do not get many knife grips out of a single Lee Enfield rifle butt. The wood is walnut which was the wood of choice for the British Army until the commencement of WW2 and this walnut has been stored for at least sixty years. We have a drawstring bag made with the exact same scarlet cloth used over the centuries by the British army. The size fits our folding knives. The drawstring bag uses the cloth made for the British Army from the Battle of Waterloo onwards. It’s made by a Yorkshire mill founded in 1787 and the mill is still going strong. The cloth is remembered in the thin red line at Balaclava and the redcoats in North America and is used in the dress uniform of the Guards even today.

For the Queens 90th Birthday we have the Coronation Five shilling piece rebated into teak preserved by the Royal Navy for sixty years as replacement decking for the Royal Yacht.
